Introduction
For the first time, the Keele University School of Medicine is open for applications from overseas. We have an innovative new curriculum starting in 2007. You will be in a year group of approximately 130 students (including 10 students from overseas). The distinguishing features include:
² A problem-based learning approach with student selected components.
² Maximum opportunities for learning with other health professional students.
² Integration of basic science and clinical experience throughout the course.
² Maximum variety of choice in terms of activity and learning environment.
² The opportunity for students to take an intercalated BSc degree after year 2, or an intercalated Master degree after year 4.
Entry Requirements
² Grades of AAB will normally be required at A Level. However, it is not necessary for a grade A pass to be achieved in Chemistry or Biology.
² English Language requirements are grade B at GCSE or IELTS 7.0
² Foundation Year will also be offered for those students without the conventional A-level subjects normally required for direct entry.
Admission Statistics
For 2008 entry, we received over 1,000 applications for the 130 available places. International students from Hong Kong will be subject to the standard admissions procedure which involves application through UCAS. Short listed candidates are required to attend an interview in Hong Kong by Prof. Richard Hays, Head of School of Medicine.

Great opportunity to study PHARMACY in the UK ¡V MPharm (4-year)
Introduction
Keele already has a well-established postgraduate school (The Department of Medicines Management), and a strong network of links with major employers such as Boots and the National Health Service.
The Keele MPharm course aims to provide highly skilled health care professionals and competent scientists, well prepared for these new roles. In particular, we will draw on our existing strengths in medicines management, considered by many to be the future of the profession. Students will study in modern facilities, alongside colleagues from other health and science courses. The four-year MPharm course will equip them with the knowledge and skills essential for a successful career as a pharmacist.
In common with all other pharmacy courses Keele requires external accreditation of its proposed course by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain (RPSGB).
Pre-registration Year
All
students who complete the MPharm degree must undertake and successfully complete
a one year pre-registration period in order to register as a Pharmacist in the
UK.
Entry Requirements

GCSE or
equivalent:
Mathematics grade B, English Language grade C
International English Language Testing (IELTS) with an average score of 7.0.
l
A-level
or equivalent:
Three subjects at grade B including either Chemistry or Biology.
l Students can enter the MPharm course directly, or via Keele's Science Foundation year.
